On Flexibility

“Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.” -Michael McGriffy, M.D.

‘Tis the time of year when we are often pulled and stretched in many directions (and not just in yoga class). Packed schedules, travel, shopping, obligations to family and friends—sometimes these things pile up during the holidays and leave us feeling stressed instead of blessed. We owe it to ourselves to try to stay flexible, to breathe and stay soft in body and mind. This way we will not snap when something goes awry!

One way we try to maintain flexibility is by continuing to carve out time for ourselves, for meditation or relaxation or exercise, even when our schedules are tight. This way we keep our own cup full so we’re not depleted when we are called to give time and energy to others.

How do you stay  flexible, especially this time of year?
